A public consultation showcasing the Croydon Partnership’s updated plans to regenerate the Whitgift Shopping Centre will take place from Thursday, May 12 to Sunday, May 15.
Borough residents, employees, community groups and businesses are invited to attend the exhibition of the £1.4billion proposals.
Members of the Croydon Partnership’s planning and development team will offer visitors key information and visual displays of the entire project and provide them with an overview of the newly proposed upgrades to the scheme.
The exhibition is being held on the ground floor of the Whitgift shopping centre, next to WH Smith near the North End exit at the following times:
- Thursday, May 12 (2-8pm)
- Friday, May 13 (11am-6pm)
- Saturday, May 14 (11am-5pm)
- Sunday, May 15 (11am-5pm)
The exhibition is taking place across a range of dates and times, including the weekend, to give as many people as possible the opportunity to attend the event.

“The public consultation for our enhanced plans maintains this ethos and we look forward to welcoming as many people as possible to the exhibition.”
The enhanced plans include a brand new Marks & Spencer store, the addition of a third level of retail, the possibility of increasing the number of homes and improved public realm.
The revised plans continue to deliver more than 1.5m sq ft of retail incorporating the key masterplan and design principles from the consented scheme.
