Upper Norwood Library Hub has reopened after a major refurbishment.
Work to the roof, floors and internal decoration of the 116-year-old library is creating a bright, contemporary space for locals to use.
Croydon Council has committed to providing £110,000 per year to support the community-led project, of which Lambeth Council is co-sponsor.
Community hub director Emily Jewell, said: “With the support of Lambeth and Croydon Councils, we now have a building fit for the 21st century.
“We are delighted that we have such a great building for the Upper Norwood community who fought so hard to keep the library open. This is a building for our community to borrow books, resources and use for a wide range of activities and services.”
