The changing face of Croydon was showcased to guests from a national organisation as part of an annual conference held in the town.
The Association of Town Centre Managers, the largest membership organisation of its kind in Europe, marked its 25th anniversary year by hosting a two-day event at Croydon College.
As part of the conference, Develop Croydon joined ACTM member Croydon Business Improvement District and Croydon Council in leading delegates on a study tour of the town taking in the likes of the RISEgallery, Whitgift Almshouses and the TMRW business hub at Davis House.
ACTM, which is dedicated to ensuring town and city centres reach their full potential, also ran a study tour of Purley.
The conference also featured a “Welcome to Croydon” by Councillor Mark Watson, the borough’s lead member for economy and jobs, while Heather Cheesbrough, Croydon Council’s director for planning and strategic transport, discussed the “story so far”, outlining the challenges and opportunities for this south London borough.
