A developer outlined plans to transform an 1850s building into a tech hub and space for community use at MIPIM 2016.
Guildhouse Rosepride is behind proposals to bring the historic Pump House back to life as part of a wider plan to regenerate Exchange Square in the heart of Croydon’s Old Town.
David Hudson, chief executive of Guildhouse UK, told the Croydon panel discussion at MIPIM in Cannes: “The Pump House got large open spaces so we’re going to put some new floors in there and create a really funky environment which will be ideal for tech.

“We’re going to add to some events space which will also be used for music an art as well as some restaurant space.
“Outside there will be temporary uses, partially covered, with some food and beverage and some retail. The programme is to get a planning application in this year, and hopefully to start on site in the latter part of this year or early 2017.”
