Stuart is a founding Director of MICA Architects, brings over thirty years of leadership expertise in masterplanning, education, performance, and museum and gallery design. Renowned for his skill in designing contemporary buildings and sensitive additions to historic settings, Stuart was the Project Architect for the acclaimed Ashmolean Museum redevelopment, overseeing its masterplan and three transformative phases of work.
With a reputation for delivering ambitious and technically complex projects, Stuart’s portfolio extends across the UK. Highlights include the regeneration of Fairfield Halls and the Fairfield Cultural Quarter in Croydon, the expansion of Lincoln’s Inn, and a new gatehouse and workspace for Gray’s Inn. His expertise in heritage projects is exemplified by the multi-award-winning Hay Castle redevelopment in Hay-on-Wye, and the World Gallery and Studio at the Horniman Museum.
Passionate about problem-solving and design excellence, Stuart is currently leading a range of forward-thinking projects. These include a 100% Passivhaus residential development in Didcot, de-carbonisation masterplans in London and Cambridge, and the restoration of William and Catherine Blake’s legacy into a new study centre in East Sussex. Stuart is also advancing the Fairfield public realm project in Croydon.
