Mark joined London Legacy Development Corporation in January 2012, and led the successful re-opening of Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park and legacy venues, including the London Aquatics Centre, the ArcelorMittal Orbit, and the Copper Box Arena. He directed the Park opening with a series of major concerts, including Jay-Z, Justin Timberlake and Bruce Springsteen and the London Stadium. The Park and venues attract 20 million visitors per annum.
He is responsible for managing the Park, venues and wider estate, including residential commercial and retail properties; and leads on Crisis Management across the estate. He was a Director at London Stadium for six years and is a Director of Stratford Waterfront Management Company and Chair of Stratford Waterfront Retail Company.
Prior to joining LLDC, he was CEO of The Royal Parks for over six years, where he led the parks in preparing for 10 Olympic events, including Beach Volleyball on Horse Guards Parage Ground, Three-day eventing in Greenwich Park, Triathlon and road cycling. He also introduced new events to the Royal Parks, including Winter Wonderland and The Royal Parks ½ Marathon.
Immediately prior to becoming CEO of The Royal Parks he was Director of the Supreme Court Group for England and Wales, including managing the Royal Courts of Justice. He was a Government Statistician prior to working in the justice system.
