Croydon Council is to hold a series of public consultation events to ask residents what further regeneration projects they would like to see delivered in New Addington.
Work is already underway on a new leisure centre, with further proposals in place for new homes and shops, as well as the possibility of moving the existing library and adding a new GP surgery.
Further options being explored include a new wellbeing centre being built and an improved green space in front of the new leisure centre.
Councillor Paul Scott, cabinet lead for regeneration and planning, “There are some exciting things going on in New Addington at the moment and we want to see the area thrive with the future plans for the area.
“We want those who live and work in the area to help shape how it will look in the future. We’ll be around to listen to your views on what you think is required in the next phase of regeneration in New Addington.
“I would ask as many people as possible to come along to these events and have their say.”
Details for the engagement events are as follows:
- Tuesday, 11 September, 9am-4pm, Outdoor Market on the Market Square, Central Parade, New Addington
- Thursday, 13 September, 9am-1.30pm, Indoor Market at New Addington Community Centre
- Tuesday, 18 September, 4pm-8pm, New Addington Community Centre . Please note that this event will run in parallel with the consultation for the Suburban Design Guidance Supplementary Planning Guidance 2.
- Thursday, 20 September, 9am-1.30pm, Indoor Market at New Addington Community Centre
- Friday 21 September, 9am-4pm, Outdoor Market on the Market Square, Central Parade, New Addington.
- Saturday, 22 September, 12noon-4pm, New Addington Fun Day, Market Square, Central Parade
Between 10 September and 30 September unstaffed exhibitions, with questionnaires available to be completed, are also at the below locations:
- Addington Community Centre
- New Addington Library
- Fieldway Family Centre
- Timebridge Youth Centre
