Live music venue Hoodoos is looking for a new home with room to roll out major expansion plans in 2018.
The Croydon ‘micro venue’ which attracts major talent, was started by Richard and Josie Hamilton, their musician son Peter, and musician and venue chef John Lovell.
Hoodos has built up a loyal and enthusiastic following across London for nurturing new and emerging talent since opening at Matthews Yard in 2015 but has left because of refurbishment works.
Now it is looking for an interim base for upcoming gigs, prior to moving to a permanent new home, as well as for the August launch of grassroots music, art and filmmakers magazine CrapMag.
“Hoodoos has had to vacate the premises at short notice to allow Matthews Yard to carry out refurbishment works,” said Richard.
“We apologise to our clients and ask for patience while we seek a permanent new home.”
Despite this a spring and summer programme of concerts has been announced while it will also support the Love Festival in Wandle Park in June.
“We don’t want our fans to miss a moment of Hoodoos music while we look for our permanent new home so we have lined up some fantastic acts for our concerts at Scream Lounge and Croydon Conference Centre,” added Richard.
