Croydon developers Guidhouse Rosepride have helped to bring wartime hero back to the capital.
The company, which is behind the landmark One Landsdowne Road, which at 650ft will be the UK’s largest residential tower, has helped to cement links with China, by supporting the gift of a statue of the iconic Ming panda to London Zoo.
The panda, which became a symbol of hope for children in the capital during the World War II bombing blitz, has been recreated and donated to London Zoo by Chinese companies and official groups.

It follows Guildhouse-Rosepride announcing that the China Building Technique Group has signed as primary contractor for the mixed-use One Landsdowne Road scheme, which will also feature Grade A office space and a contemporary four-star luxury hotel.
Meanwhile, Guildhouse has joined the people of China in extending a hand of friendship to the people of the UK in the form of a £10,000 donation to the Zoological Society of London.
Guo Weimin, deputy director of China’s State Council information office said: “This is to promote China-UK friendship and communication. Ming will continue to bring joy and happiness to London.”
British Airways flew the statue free of charge from Chengdu to London.
