A public exhibition into Criterion Capital’s plans to create new homes at Canterbury House takes place at Jury’s Inn in Wellesley Road on Saturday, June 17 (10am-2pm).
The drop-in session will allow local residents to view the initial plans, speak to members of the design team and make comments.
Criterion’s draft plan for the scheme in Sydenham Road is for London Living rent flats in line with the Mayor of London’s vision.
A spokesman said: “We envisage a new, high quality development with improved public realm and accessible new London Living rent flats rather than accommodation for private sale.
“Before submitting anything to the council we want to listen to the views and aspirations of the local community.”
The existing 11-storey Canterbury House has already been converted into 98 affordable rental flats under PRS regulations.
Criterion are now looking to develop a second phase which will go through the usual planning process featuring a further 348 units to help meet Croydon’s housing needs.
