Croydon Council’s own development company is set to bring forward a development on a prime site in Coulsdon after the original scheme fell through.
Waitrose are believed to still be keen to be part of a development on the former Lion Green Road car park even though the original planned scheme, which was to be carried out by Croydon Council Urban Regeneration Vehicle, is no longer viable.
The council is now exploring other option for the site, with new homes also likely to form part of their proposals.
