Brgr&Beer in Croydon has been rated the fourth best burger restaurant in the UK by TripAdvisor reviewers.
Its position was announced as the travel website revealed the 10 best burger restaurants in the country according to TripAdvisor diners ahead of National Burger Day on Thursday (August 23).
The TripAdvisor list of the top burger restaurants in the UK is based on the reviews and opinions of TripAdvisor diners, taking into account the quality, quantity and ratio of reviews.
Featured restaurants have a minimum of four bubbles, 100 reviews and two locations or less as of June 2018.
Adam Jackowski, who owns Brgr&Beer with Tom Yip and Daniel Esteban, said the news was “totally unexpected”.
He said: “It’s pretty crazy to be honest. There must be thousands and they’ve chosen us as one of the best; the guys from good ol’ Croydon.
“We never set out to win awards and we just like doing what we do. We are just damn happy that the people of Croydon and the UK love what we do.”
Adam explained why he thinks Brgr&Beer was rated so highly.
He said: “We use the best quality produce. Our beef comes from heritage rare breed cows and even our vegan falafel option is made from scratch.
“Above all, the staff are the best. They give the best service in Croydon, know their beers and we work as a family. We think this is why people come back.”
After getting fed up with their 9 to 5 jobs, back in 2015 Adam, Daniel and Tom set up Brgr&Beer with the vision of offering top-notch burgers and quality craft beers to the people of Croydon and beyond.
Since then, in October 2016, they have also opened Wine&Deli in Croydon’s Boxpark food and drink mall.
Adam explained: “In 2014 we drank too much and thought it would be a good idea to open a burger joint. One year later, we opened at Matthews Yard.
“It’s been a mad rollercoaster which has seen us being named Time Out Best Restaurant in Croydon two years running and most recently one of the best pubs in London according to The Londonist.”
