L&Q plan new 18-storey block of flats

Initial plans for a new 18-storey block of flats in Croydon have been unveiled.

A pre-application proposal for nearly 140 flats in Addiscombe Road was heard by Croydon Council’s planning committee.

The plans have been put forward by London and Quadrant (L&Q) a housing association which manages 95,000 homes in London and the South East.

The site, 30-38 Addiscombe Road, is already empty and there is already permission to build 62 flats on the land.

But L&Q wants to build a six-storey section plus an 18-storey development to provide 137 flats.

The development would include 50% “affordable housing”, half of which would be offered at affordable rent.

L&Q have now held two public consultation events at East Croydon United Reformed Church in Addiscombe Grove. You can view further details and the consultation boards at http://30-38addiscomberoad.com/consultation-boards

A full planning application will be submitted in the coming months.
