The potential of Croydon as an ‘innovation district’ is set to be highlighted at the launch of research followed by a panel debate taking place in central London on Thursday, April 14.
With Sussex Innovation – Croydon having recently taken up residency at No.1 Croydon, the continued growth of Croydon Tech City and the impending transformation of part of Davis House into a new tech hub called Tomorrow, fostering innovation is a hot topic within the borough.
A piece of work by Centre for London entitled Innovation Districts: The London Context will be presented at the LVMH Theatre at Central St Martins, King’s Cross, from 10am to noon on Thursday, April 14 and an expert panel will give their views on the findings.
The event will discuss the changing geography of higher education and the knowledge economy in the capital, highlighting how organisations that want to promote innovation are choosing to locate close to each other, forming innovation districts where they can share ideas, space and expertise.
The panel will discuss how features of the innovation district model can be applied to London, and their potential for promoting inclusive economic growth.
